After saying goodbye to my student and her family, I went to spend the weekend in Chengdu with my host family. I was right in time for Lillian and her little friend Amy’s piano recital. Their preschool/elementary school had put on a big musical show with about fifty students playing short songs on the piano, violin or erhu, a Chinese instrument. The songs got a little repetitive, but it was so funny seeing the fancy outfits that all of the students were wearing. I think Lillian and Amy totally won with their sort of matching Snow White dresses.
