I was in Hong Kong over the Chinese New Year and it was fun to see everything that was happening for it. Flowers hold special significance over the New Year and there was a huge flower market right by my hostel. Vendors sell potted orange and kumquat trees and I saw a lot of these in the windows of businesses. Pomelos and jujubes also symbolize good luck. Many families came to the market to buy orchids and peach and plum blossoms and when they were walking around trying to find the perfect flowers, it looked a little like Christmas tree shopping!
