Giving lectures on Christian holiday traditions is definitely one of the last things I expected to do in China. But my students are really interested in American culture and requested a presentation about Easter. This photo was taken right after our Easter egg hunt. Talking about Easter while excluding many details about the holiday’s religious significance was a little difficult, but the presentation was still a huge success. I learned another interesting thing about religion in China today when an American teacher friend told me that his parents were coming to visit him this summer. My friend’s dad is a pastor and instead of being granted the usual ten year China tourist visa for Americans, his dad is only allowed into the country for one trip.
