Katie coaches her university’s English department’s girls basketball team which I thought was so cool. The team of about twelve girls practice once a week and they’ll compete against other departments’ teams in a final competition. I can’t remember which department the girls said was the best, but they pointed out another group of girls practicing nearby and told me that they were really good because they were the tallest. I was impressed that these teams even existed because it seems like many of the girls I teach try to completely avoid playing sports altogether.
